We are continuing to expand our waste management consultancy service to local authorities and private sector operators throughout the UK and Europe, and are keen to hear from individuals interested in developing their careers within the waste management industry through employment within the company.
From time to time we also have requirements for associates to work with us on specific projects, bringing specialist skills to a given project. We are always keen to expand our network of associates, developing effective relationships with them so we can draw them in right from the proposal stage where their skills are of relevance.
Consultants and associates should possess a wide knowledge of the waste industry, with particular expertise in their own chosen field. The range of projects undertaken can vary greatly from one day to another, and applicants must be able to demonstrate they can apply their knowledge of the industry to the wide range of clients who choose to employ our services.
Our staff must be able to harmonise their expertise with our clients’ requirements and demonstrate to them that the service they receive is exemplary, and one of the most worthwhile decisions that they will make. Our clients expect nothing less than the very best from us. This is the only standard by which we operate, and we expect consultants employed by Gordon Mackie Associates Ltd to find rising to the challenge exceptionally rewarding. We want our staff to enjoy their work and find that its benefits can more than meet the customers’ needs.
Please review our current vacancies at the top of this page and study the information provided for each position (available in PDF format). You can find out about the roles in greater detail and how to apply should you consider yourself to be a suitable candidate for consideration.
As a general rule, each applicant for employment by the company should possess the following:
- A degree in a waste management or other related subject
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to interact with others, particularly in group meetings with clients
- Well developed IT skills
- Current driving licence
- Finally, a good sense of humour
Whilst it is envisaged that most projects will be undertaken from our Hyde offices, it is possible that on some projects consultants will need to work at the Client’s premises, which could be anywhere within the UK. If projects are overseas, applicants should also be prepared to spend an amount of time away from the UK.
