We are continuing to expand our waste management consultancy service to local authorities and private sector operators throughout the UK and Europe, and are keen to hear from individuals interested in developing their careers within the waste management industry through employment within the company.

Consultants should possess a vast knowledge of the waste industry with expertise in their own chosen field. Our staff must be able to harmonise their expertise with our clients’ requirements and demonstrate to them that the service they receive is exemplary, and one of the most worthwhile decisions that they will make.

Being a waste management consultant should hold no exception to this rule, as our clients expect nothing less than the very best from us. This is the only standard by which we operate.

We expect consultants employed by Gordon Mackie Associates Ltd to adhere to this rule, but find rising to the challenge exceptionally rewarding. We want our staff to enjoy their work and find that its benefits can more than meet the customers’ needs.

The range of projects undertaken can vary greatly from one day to another, and applicants must be able to demonstrate the need to deploy their essential knowledge of the industry to the wide range of clients who choose to employ our services.

As a general rule, each applicant for employment by the company should possess the following:

• A degree in a waste management or other related subject
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to interact with others, particularly in group meetings with clients
• Well developed IT skills
• Current driving licence
• Finally, a good sense of humour

Whilst it is envisaged that most projects will be undertaken from our Hyde offices, much of the work involves working at the Client’s premises which could be anywhere within the UK. If projects are overseas, applicants should also be prepared to spend an amount of time away from the UK.
